Year 4
Children’s Mental Health Week
During Children’s Mental Health Week, Year 4 focused on the theme of belonging. They discussed what belonging means and shared how they belong to different groups both inside and outside of school. The children also talked about their favourite places where they feel a strong sense of belonging. To represent this, they created 'belonging islands' to illustrate the people and places that are important to them.
Throughout the week, they also explored music as a way to support mental health. They listened to different pieces of music, explored a variety of rhythms and worked with a partner to compose their own piece. They had great fun collaborating with their peers. It was clear to see how music can positively support their wellbeing.
