Restart a Heart
Thank you to Pip from the Midlands Air Ambulance for delivering an amazing assembly to the whole school and also for providing fantastic CPR skills sessions for Years 5 and 6.
The children took part in a practical session where they learnt how to check for signs of breathing, how to perform CPR, how to use a defibrillator and how to put a patient into the recovery position correctly. The children worked incredibly hard giving 'Bob' chest compressions for two minutes without a rest. It was hard work but everyone was able to use the correct technique to successfully pump a person's heart when they are in cardiac arrest.
