This festive season, each year group explored how Christmas is celebrated in different countries and brought those traditions to life through art, culture, and creativity. The activities helped children learn about global customs while having fun making beautiful crafts.
Year 1 – Honduras
Hondura Wreath
Year 1 created colorful wreaths inspired by Honduran traditions, brightening up our classroom and reminding us of the joy of Christmas.
Year 2 – Nigeria
Calabar Carnival-Inspired Decorations
Year 2 captured the vibrant spirit of Nigeria’s Calabar Carnival with bold, colorful decorations that reflected the energy of this famous celebration.
Year 3 – Philippines
Parol
Year 3 made beautiful Parol lanterns, a traditional Filipino Christmas symbol of hope and light, sharing the warmth and brightness of the season.
Years 4 & 5 – Uganda
Christmas Crafts and Culture
Years 4 and 5 explored Ugandan traditions through creative art and festive greetings:
- Wildlife-themed Christmas cards alongside the Bethlehem stable.
- Cards featuring the message “Web Male Krismasi” (Merry Christmas in Luganda).
- Batik-inspired artwork and a taste of Ugandan flavors.
Year 6 – Children’s Choice
Year 6 chose one other country they had learned about and created fact cards or posters showcasing its Christmas traditions.
